It’s National Pollinator Week!

June 19-25th has been designated National Pollinator Week by the US Department of Agriculture and the US Department of the Interior.

It’s grown into a celebration of the valuable ecosystem services provided by bees, birds, butterflies, bats, and beetles.

Shannon Gallagher Wingert, Pennsylvania’s Mrs United States Agriculture, and Olivia Orf, Portage County Randolph Fair Queen, visited the Bee Farm owned by the Kline Family in Edinburg, Ohio. They learned about bees and the issues of declining pollinator populations.

(Olivia will be representing Ohio at the 2018 Miss United States Agriculture Pageant!)
